Is it absolutely impossible to find normal people that want to talk about D&D, do they have to reach out to the strangest fuckers the can find? This continues to give D&D a bad name, and it annoys me. AND I don't like being lumped in with LARPers, that's just bullshit!
ReplyDeleteTrekkies was kinda a fun documentary, focusing on the weird people who obsess over Star Trek. This looks like that, which wouldn't be a problem except... lots of normal people watch Star Trek, and everyone knows that. That isn't true of DnD.
ReplyDeleteI have to explain to people what the game is, because they don't know. And watching that trailer, I'd say the odds are practically nil that I'll direct anyone towards seeing it if they want to know more about DnD. Documentary fail.
The Gamer: Dorkness Rising, on the other hand, actually showed a pretty good cross-section of who plays and what the game is like.
